Power Rankings Week 21

The next to last week and things started getting tight at the top of the rankings. The Riot went out and put up the highest individual week score of the year. Talk about peaking and playing your best at the right time of the year. Of course I hope that he used up all his best stuff before the playoffs and will now fizzle out. Which of course will not happen. So without further adieu...the winner this week was The Riot, and for the year I got 2 BJs is still holding onto first, but with a very slim lead.

last weeks rankings have now been corrected as well

Power Rankings Week 18

Abbreviated version because i'm lazy or Meizy whichever way you want to look at it. No MVP, but it would probably be somebody like Matt Holliday this week. And LvP would be somebody like chone figgins and his 42 errors. So this week the winner was The Riot, woo hoo.

For the year, I got 2 BJs is still in 1st for the 3rd week in a row, and there was no movement up or down...boring

Power Rankings Week 17

ALERT ALERT there was another shutout this week. Ramirez Bros and Co shut out the crazy eyed killas. Did that mean the they were the top team in the power rankings for the 3rd week in a row? Maybe. This week's MVP was Connor Jackson of Furry Balls. C-Jax hit .542 with 3 HRs and scored 9 runs. He also had 7 RsBI a stolen base and an OPS of 1.676. The LVP award this week goes to Cristian Guzmán of Captain Delux. He went 2/17 for a .118 avg and an OPS of .343 and no other fantasy stats. Congrats again to meiz for shutting out tyler, you are the bestest fantasy shutouter of all time. I can't believe how awesome your shutout was. You're like Daniel Larusso, you're the best around and nothing is gonna ever keep you down. So with that, we have our weekly winner for the 3rd week in a row: Ramirez Bros. and Co.

For the year, I Got 2 BJs continues to lead the pack...brisket

Power Rankings Week 16

The short week after the All-Star break sucks. Especially since it's right in the stretch run for the FMLB playoffs, and playoff seedings can be effected greatly by a short week. But whatever. The great news is that there is a new leader for the year but you'll have to wait to find out who. The MVP for the short week was David Wright of I got 2 BJs. About time he started living up to his high draft position, even if it was for only 4 games. Wright hit .385 with 2HRs 6RsBI and a stolen base. He also scored 5 runs and had an OPS of 1.449. The LVP this week was Aramis Ramirez of The Riot. Aramis was 0/13 and never even reached base in the 3 game set against the Astros, pathetic... On to the weekly rankings, and while there was a tie last week, this week the winner (for the 2nd week in a row) was: Ramirez Bros. & Co.

For the year we finally had some changes in the top spot, the new leader is I Got 2 BJs...bask

Power Rankings Week 15

So we've completed 15 weeks of FMLB and there are like 7 to go until the playoffs start, so things are starting to shake out. Great matchup this last week between The Riot (1st in PR and 1st in league standings) and I got 2 BJs (2nd in PR and 2nd in league standings). It was a very even matchup, with 2BJs coming out on top to take over sole possession of the league lead, but did they catch The Riot in the power rankings, stay tuned. This week's MVP is Nate McLouth of 2BJs. It was a less than spectacular week for everyone, but we ranked McLouth as #1. For the week he hit .290 but had an OPS of 1.139 that included 4HRs. He also scored 9 runs, had 9RsBI and stole a couple of bags. Solid week. The LVP this week is Carlos Gomez of Lincecum for Pres. Gomez was 1/26 for a .038 avg for the week with and OPS of .076, the good news is that he had 1 RBI, but no other statistics to be proud of.

The weekly rankings were so tough that we had a tie. For the first time ever, both teams tied to lead the pitching, and tied to lead the hitting categories for the week. Not only was that impressive, but they both played the teams that came in 3rd and 4th in the rankings this week, so it was a good effort and showing up when you needed to show up. The tie winners are: Ramirez Bros & Co and I got 2 BJs

How much you want for that grill Manny?

The great week for 2BJs was still not enough to catch The Riot, who holds the overall lead for the 10th week in a row....bask

Power Rankings Week 14

And we're back with another weekly addition of LoV Fantasy Beisbol power rankings. Everyone was pretty even this week in their matchups. This week's MVP race was a close one. And while JJ Hardy had the most insane week, we can't rightfully call him an MVP as he wasn't even owned for most of the week. So, we move on to the next guy and that's NL all-star Matt Holliday of captain delux. Matty hit .429 hit 3HRs including a Grand Slam, had 10RsBI and scored 8 runs. He also stole 3 bags and had an OPS of 1.286 (just a side note JJ Hardy hit .600 with 6HRS and an OPS of 1.992). The LVP for the week was Jeff Keppinger of I Need More DL Spots. Kep was 1/23 for a .043 average and an OPS of .126. (and to think that he was owned all week, whilst JJ Hardy was on the waiver wire...hmmm).

On to the power rankings. This week was pretty close overall, and featured a 3 way tie for 3rd place. But there can be only one winner and since I don't want to post a picture of Tim Lincecum, you get some random hot chick. The winner: Lincecum for Pres.

For the year, The Riot is in 1st for the 9th straight week, and 13th out of 14 overall....bisquick.

Power Rankings Week 13

Power rankings, blah. I spent the weekend in the mountains, so my team was fucked. Doesn't matter anyway, they suck. But this is not about me, it's about ranking the powers. This week's MVP is an absolute douche. Dustin Pedroia of Furry Balls decided to quit sucking pretty much the day I dropped him. This week he hit .556 with an OPS of 1.386, 2HRs, 7 runs scored and 5 RsBI, oh and he stole a base. The LVP happened to be on the team that I was playing this week, but it didn't matter. Prince Fielder of Captain Delux was a whopping 1/24 for an .042 avg and an OPS of .122, and he scored a run. It didn't matter though because the winner of the power rankings this week, for the first time this year is: Captain Delux

Enjoy being a woman...for the year The Riot is still in 1st, not a lot of movement this week but things are tightening up (TNWBS)...biscuit

Power Rankings Week 12

Here it is, the end of week 12. Right around the halfway point of the season (if you include the playoffs) and roughly 55% of the regular season is over. Things are starting to come together in the power rankings, at the top and the bottom. This week's MVP was Jermaine Dye of McNamee's Miller Lite. Dye hit .417 for the week, had 5 HRs, 13 RBIs and scored 7 runs. He also had an OPS of 1.607. On the flip side, the LVP for the week was Jason Varitek of Captain Delux. Captain Morgan and Cap'n Crunch had better weeks than "the captain" as "Tek" went 0/19 with no runs, rbis, brother never even got on base...serves bahhston right.

Anyway, on to the rankings. Good week this week, but the winner for the 3rd time was: McNamee's Miller Lite

For the year, the top 4 spots are a good fight, and the bottom 5 spots are all fairly closely bunched, but The Riot continues to stay in 1st for an unprecedented 7th straight week....bask

Monday, June 16, 2008

Power Rankings Week 11

There's a new sheriff in town, and he's got Crazy Eyes. But before we get to that how about this weeks MVP. Grady Sizemore of The Riot was this weeks best player. He only hit .308 for the week, but he scored 7 runs, had 5 HRs and 8 RBIs, he also swiped one bag. His OPS for the week was 1.302, well played sir. The LVP this week was Hunter Pence of Todd Packer. The Pence man was 2/23 for an .087 avg and an OPS of .217, he scored no runs, had no HRs, and no RBIs...loser.

So lets move on to this week's results. Let's start at the bottom (TWSS?). Anyway, a pathetic showing by Captain Delux resulting in the lowest score of the season, not to mention being shut-out in the league scoring...for shame. There was no doubt about this week's winner. They were the first team this year to win both overall pitching and overall hitting, the highest power ranking score of the year thus far, and it goes to: Crazy Eyed Killas

For the season, Tyler has moved up out of last place and there's a battle brewing for the bottom (TWSS)...basket

Monday, June 9, 2008

Power Rankings Week 10

And around the turn we go. We started the second time through the lineup, so now it gets tougher because everyone has seen Meiz's eephus pitch and won't be fooled by it again. Everyone knows that deluxe is a douche and chases the high heat, and that keith can't hit a curveball, bats are afraid. So you have to keep your head on a swivel and make adjustments, because there can be only ONE. This week's MVP is Joe Crede of Captain Delux. For the week, Crede hit .611 with an OPS of 2.223, he scored 9 runs, had 5 HRs, and 12 RBIs. The best thing about Joe Crede, Doucheluxe didn't start him even one day last week. Moron, no wonder he came in last in the power rankings for the second straight week. The LVP for this week was Adrian Beltre also of Captain Delux. Beltre hit .095 (2/21) with an OPS of .295, he scored 2 runs and had 1 RBI...but more importantly, he started every game for doucheluxe at 3b while Crede rode the pine. Hilarity ensues.

On to the power rankings. This weeks winner was: Furry Balls

For the year, The Riot continues in first place, and Crazy Eyed Killas settles back into the cellar...bask

Power Rankings Week 9

We have now gone through the entire rotation. Every team has played each other so nobody can complain that they've played a tougher or easier schedule anymore. Fucking whiners. Lots to cover this week. First, the MVP for the week. While Chase Utley, technically (according to Y!) had the better week, the MVP is White Jesus himself Jay Bruce of Crazy Eyed Killas. With his owner whining for weeks for him to be called up, he outplayed the hype. In his first full week of MLB, he hit .591 (13/22), scored 10 runs, had 6 RBIs, 2HR and stole 2 bases, all while having an OPS of 1.69. Un-be-fucking-lieveable week for a rookie. The LVP, was not quite as good. Again, Pudge Rodgriguez technically (according to Y!) had the worst week, our choice is Garret Atkins of Ramirez Bros. & Co. Fucking stupid ass Atkins helped the rockies lose 7 straight games and hit .087 (2/23) scored 2 runs and had an OPS of .212...finally a 3B that David Wright is better than.

For the rankings we had a couple of big items happen this week. The Riot had the best offensive week in the power rankings so far this season....while McNamee's Miller Lite tied the best overall rankings for the season. And they played each other in a battle of epic proportions. Without any further hutzpah, the weekly winner is: McNamee's Miller Lite

Year to Date, the Riot remains in first place and Meatloaf remains in last...bask

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Power Rankings Week 8

Power Rankings, blah. This week the MVP was Ryan Howard of Todd Packer he went 9/27 with an avg of .333 and an OPS of 1.330. He also scored 9 runs, Hit 4HR and had 12 RBIs. I guess he's starting to heat up. The LVP was Brian Schneider of McNamee's Miller Lite. Schneider went 1/20 with an avg of .050 and an OPS of .145, but he's a MET, so it's all good. And on to the power rankings. For the week the winner was: I got 2 BJ's

Year to date, The Riot is still in 1st place, but there was a lot of movement behind him (TWSS). You'll also notice a significant anna molly, Meatloaf Sandwich is in dead last (congrats for getting out of last place tyler), yet he's only .5 game out of first in the actual league rankings, hilarity....bask

Monday, May 19, 2008

Power Rankings Week 7

And we're back. Rough week this week, not much movement in the Year to Date standings. Anyway, on to the MVP for the week. There were a number of candidates including Lance (i hate you) Berkman, and Ryan (not as good as tulo) Braun. But the winner this week was the winner by a landslide. Alfonso Soriano of Meatloaf Sandwich. Soriano hit .516 with an OPS of 1.758, he scored 10 runs and had 14 RBIs, but his biggest stat was 7 HRs. Unbelievable week for "the hopper". And with keith's luck, soriano will now go on the 60 day DL. The LVP for the week was Kurt Suzuki of McNamee's Miller Lite. "Not Ichiro" Suzuki was 1/15 for a .067 avg, he did manage to score one run, and had an OPS of .134. Outstanding.

On to this weeks winner of the power rankings. We again had a tie, and had to use our complicated logarithm* to determine the overall winner. This weeks winner is: Todd Packer

*sophisticated algorithm consisted of feeling bad for TP for getting blocked from LoV at work...RIP TP.

For the season, The Riot is still in 1st, but the competition for 2nd is getting fierce as only 14 points separate 2nd and 5th place....bask

Monday, May 12, 2008

Week 6 Power Rankings

This week we had our first shutout. McNamee's Miller Lite, shut out Got to 3rd with Longoria. It was a pitiful performance by Meiz as his team recorded the lowest ever score in Power Rankings history...for shame. This week's MVP is Kevin Youklis a guy that EP wanted to get rid of, and a guy he actually picked up off the waiver wire after somebody (TP) dropped him. Youk hit .375 with 5 HRs and 10 RBIs. He also scored 8 runs, stole a bag and had an OPS of 1.332. Congrats. We thought about meiz's entire team the LVP this week, but instead we gave it to Edgar Renteria of Spiff. He was 0/18 and scored one run with a 0 for OPS. Great job Edgar...what an awesome week for Spiff to have Furcal get hurt.

Anyway, on to the power rankings. This week we have a tie for 1st place, so we get to use the tiebreaker. In the case of a tie, there is a very sophisticated algorithm applied to determine the winner*. And the winner is: McNamee's Miller Lite

*algorithm consist of the other 1st place team being run by Super Douchelux, and we can't have a douche as the weekly winner.

For the year, The Riot is back in 1st place after an awful showing by Spiff, and there is a good race heating up for the 3rd spot...Basque.

Monday, May 5, 2008

Power Rankings Week 5

And here we go again with another week of Power Rankings. This weeks MVP is Matt Kemp of Furry Balls. Kemp hit .407, had an OPS of .989, he scored 7 runs and knocked in 11 while also stealing 6 bases. The LVP finally moves over onto a new team. This week it's AJ Pierzynski of Captain Delux, he hit .091 with 2 hits and one RBI and an OPS of .221...way to go douche.

And away we go with the power rankings. This weeks winner, and our first 2 time winner of a week is: Spiff

Spiff finally moved into the top spot in the Year to Date rankings as well. This week's anna molly points out that Meatloaf Sandwich, while 3rd in the actual league standings, ranks next to last in Total Year Power Rankings. So is his record just a matter of playing shitty teams thus far, or is he a matchup genius? Who knows...bask

Monday, April 28, 2008

Power Rankings Week 4

It's time once again for our weekly installment of power rankings. We'll get right to it. This week's MVP is Lance Berkman of Captain Delux's team...way to go Meiz. Last week he hit .455 with 4HR, 12RBI, 7Runs, and stole a base...he also had an OPS of 1.653, congrats mr. berkman.(i still hate you)...The LVP for the week is Khalil Greene of McNamee's Miller Lite...2nd week in a row for EP to have the LVP, congrats that's quite an accomplishment. (do you still think Khalil is worth more than Bobby Crosby?)...Mr. Greene's numbers for the week were .145avg on 4for27 and .435OPS, and he had 1 RBI...super weak.

On to the power rankings, this week's top team is: Got to 3rd with Longoria

Year to Date, it's still The Riot in 1st place, with very little movement this week....bask

Monday, April 21, 2008

Power Rankings Week 3

So as the season goes on, I've decided to add a weekly player MVP and LVP award. Recognizing the guy who was the best player for the week, and the worst "owned" player for the week, according to yahoo's weekly rankings. And I'm just talking about position players, so Eric Gagne is not eligible for LVP honors. This week the MVP was Connor Jackson, on Furry Balls. I wish I had a c-jax bobblehead. His stats for last week: .480 avg, 1.599 OPS, 10 R, 3 HR, 10 RBI, and 1SB, congrats Connor. The LVP was Carlos Delgado, of Mcnamee's Miller Lite. His stats were .045 avg, .259 OPS, 0 R, 0 HR, 3 RBI, 0 SB. Awesome.

Anyway, on to the league power rankings. The results are below, but this weeks overall winner was: Spiff.

Year to date The Riot is still in 1st, but there have been a lot of changes behind that...bask.

Monday, April 14, 2008

Power Rankings Week 2

This week we introduce another section, the Yearly power rankings. Which is a running total. I thought about adding up categories as opposed to adding up rankings from the previous week, and decided I was too lazy to do that. So it's a running total. Anyway, on to the Weekly Winner and it is: Furry Balls

Year to date The Riot is still leading...or something

Power Rankings Week 1

So here is the first edition of Power Rankings this season. Here is a quick summary of how I do the rankings. Basically, if you had the most points for a category, you get a 10. Why a 10, because there are 10 teams moron. If you came in last you get a 1. If there is a tie between 3 people for an 8 point spot, they all get 8 points, and the next team gets 5...etc etc etc. I've broken it down into Hitting and pitching and overall. This week's top Overall team was: The Riot

Fantasy Hero (s) of Opening Day

So here is my fantasy baseball hero for opening day. Mark Buerhle not only gave up 7 runs in less than 2 innings, he did so with complete disregard for the effect it would have on my FMLB team. Ass. It's hard to believe that this moron ever threw a no-hitter.

To quote from the bible "he is considered an efficient pitcher, pitching quickly and keeping his pitch count low." Well, no kidding, when you can't finish 2 innings, that's pretty quick work, and keeps your pitch count low.

Honorable mention goes to Jeff Francis who walked like 6 guys and gave up 5 runs, in a little over 2 innings before the game got washed away.

Who are your opening day heroes (s)? AND WHY?
