Gentlemens: Our LOV II league draft will take place this Sunday (12:30 PST to be exact).
We need to quickly iron out some potential rule changes.
1) Veto - league votes or commish decides? Keep in mind the bazeoball league when voting.
2) Starting positions: Currently, we're starting :
QB
WR
WR
WR
RB
RB
TE
Flex (wr or rb)
K
Def
(6 Bench spots)
With 18 teams it may be beneficial to reduce the starting requirements. Voice your concerns in the comments. I may also look at changing some of the stat categories to take into account position scarcity, etc.
Let's get on this quickly.

positions look good to me
if we are doing 3WRs and 2RBs I would drop the flex position from the starting line up.
18 teams means someone will be trotting priest holmes out there in the flex position.
for veto, i like league votes, but the basebull thing was out of control so i say commish decides.
as far as trades, I like the commissioner thing, but I think that there should be a 2 day "discussion" period or something on LOF before zeke makes a decision. That way there isn't any deception, and if you want to veto you can't be a pussy and just hit the button.
i like blue's trade talk.
"18 teams means someone will be trotting priest holmes out there in the flex position."
good point, maybe only 2 WR and a flex
keep the flex kill a WR spot
2WR and a flex is fine as well.
just drop the flex or one WR.
I vote for keeping it "commish decides" with Blue's suggestion of a 2 day group discussion before the trade is decided upon.
You can have 2 days to voice your concerns/opinions. Group sentiment will decide if it goes through or not.
and because i drink and smoked a ton of pot as a youf 1230 pst is 330 my time right?
with most teams using two backs i think keeping the flex is important
drop one WR spot and keep the flex
GAVEL
as far as changing stat requirements, I'd also like to suggest making QB points more valuable - adjust their yardage downward and/or increase their TD's to 6 pts.
I think this will change drafting strategies.
You are correct about the draft time. I refused to say it in EST. West siiiiyyyyyddddddde!
I don't mind TDs being 6 points for QBs
TD's 6 points, I like that
what about bonus
like 50+ yard throws netting an extra 5 points or something like that
and pick sixes should subtract six from qb stats
I'd also like to suggest adding "receptions" as a category.
1 point per reception or "PPR" as its known.
This increases WR value and RB's that catch the ball.
I don't know if yahoo lets you subtract 6 for a pick 6.
I don't think yahoo gives you the option of a "pick 6" negative scoring.
I haven't run the numbers for our scoring system for dropping a WR spot.
As of now I like the starting requirements as is.
Sentiment seems to be for dropping a WR though.
i have no opinions on scoring.
just set the scoring rules and i will draft appropriately.
great ideas so far
either a WR or the flex has to go, preferably the WR
with 18 teams, it'll be hard to throw out 3 decent WR for each team
that's gay if they dont minus 6 points on a pick to the house
my cbs sportsline league does
if i dont get a top 5 pick, all is lost, feel sorry for the 18th, what RB will be left?
how about the "ppr" suggestion?
wr needs to be dropped
if i dont get a top 5 pick, all is lost, feel sorry for the 18th, what RB will be left?
that's why I don't want to drop a WR and increase QB scoring.
picking at the bottom you can off-set getting a poor RB by taking bomb WR's or a bomb QB.
i point for reception works for me
ppr=pont per reception? i vote for 1 ppr
if you get a top 5 pick and get one of the true "stud" RB's and aren't "penalized" in the WR category the bottom part of the draft gets screwed.
yes, "ppr" = 1 point for EVERY reception.
your guy gets 10 catches he gets 10 points on top of his yardage, td's, etc.
thats true
if you get a top 5 pick, you're picking in the late 30's in the second round though
ppr is a go for me
if you get a top 5 pick, you're picking in the late 30's in the second round though
valid point.
but then starting 3 WR's and a flex vs 2 WR's and a flex - your 2nd, 3rd (or more) WR's won't drop off as much.
The starters as of now make you decide how you want to shape your team - wr heavy or RB heavy?
the draft will be fun.
especially since there is a 90% chance i will auto draft.
RB heavy will be tough.
18 teams 2RBs per is already 36 RBS.
if you have 3 quality RBs then someone is trotting out some junk to start.
whoever wins this league will be the guy whose players don't get hurt.
with 18 teams, there will be weeks during bye weeks where teams won't even be able to put a starting QB out there.
18 teams is too many, lets kick a few guys out
(s)
To recap:
Group sentiment as of now includes:
Increasing QB TD's to 6 pts/per.
Dropping a WR.
Adding "ppr".
and lets add tackles in for kickers.
tackles are worth 100 pts.
if you have 3 quality RBs then someone is trotting out some junk to start.
that's why I like keeping the starting requirements as they currently are.
when you're up to pick do you:
pick a starting RB
take a WR
take a QB?
all of these decisions will push players and positions down in the draft.
group discussion
I'd like to run some stats and give examples to add to the starters discussion.
ah yes: changes also include
Commish decides trade after 2 day group discussion on LOF.
irregardless the league will be fine.
its not a huge deal if we have 3WRs and 1 flex or 2 and 1.
one way i am starting michael pittman at flex and the other i am trotting out marty booker at WR.
***booker at flex.
tem has marty booker and michael pittman already?
yes, it was a supplemental draft.
i gave up my 10th and 3rd picks for them.
what is flex?
-yes, I realize I'm an idiot for asking this.
i picked up rick ankiel apparently.
wtf. i don't remember doing that.
good poll Meiz
